My husband and I live on the edge of Dartmoor, a beautiful part of England. We are pretty immersed in village life, living halfway between Drewsteignton and Chagford, Devon. Having been a primary teacher here in England, I am now retired. My son and daugher-in-law live in a nearby village (Yay!) I enjoy singing and listening to all genres of music, studying theology, reading, travelling, walking, gardening and snuggling with my cats (for cat-lovers they are little imps, otherwise known as Devon Rex). I am a committed Christian and lead songs in our local church services, playing guitar and (sometimes) djembe. My husband, Chris, is a most wonderful and amazing man -a great friend, partner and father. I am also fortunate to be able to get back to Raleigh at least once a year.
Loved singing under Judith Freeman, who introduced me to so much beautiful vocal music Otherwise, I was pretty much in a dreamworld. As they say: if you remember the 60s you weren't there. That's my excuse, anyway!

Hi Carol. Have you had my response to your question about a Wiley Facebook question? Any other responses?
Hi Donna. For many years my Dad used to meet up with a load of friends at Hayes Barton Pharmacy!

Hope to see you on Friday and Saturday night! And am looking forward to meeting your husband! Donna
I can't believe it's only 8 sleeps until the beginning of the reunion weekend celebrations. A big thanks to the people who have gone to so much trouble arranging things, especially to Debbie Martin and Grover Proctor!

You were obviously living in the moment and have wonderful and vivid memories. This was very interesting and humorous to read, Carol
Happy Birthday, Betty! No numerals mentioned. I'll be going to the School Reunion. I don't know if you will. We will get into Raleigh the previous Tuesday evening. Want to get together some way or other?
You've had an exciting time kayaking, barging around in Europe - cause that's what we Americans do, right ? But you really did it on a boat. I've never been on a European Canal boat and only 1 week on an English one with our son and his wife. We had great weather and seemed to end up as the B team when it came to jumping out at locks. I loved the pace of life and meeting people along the way. Your community in Bryson City sounds lovely.
I know what you mean about Northerners. I went to Carrol Junior High when it first opened when I was in 9th grade. Lots of girls with big leather bags (NOT called pocketbooks!). Self preservation meant that I changed quite a lot really quickly and had a new group of friends.
