Deborah was the daughter of Mordechai Litwack. She never married and her death occurred in Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina at age 28. She is buried at Raleigh Hebrew Cemetery.
Debbie was one of the people instrumental in Winged Words, our literary magazine at Broughton. We found someone else to print it for us, but with some changes in content that did not meet with the Approval of the Faculty that governed the product. It was the year the magazine did not go to press. Debbie was one of the more outspoken for those who wanted to add a little spice to the intellectual stew. Just saw this notice and must say I am shocked and saddened.
Does anyone know what befell Debbie at such a young age? We were close friends in middle and high school but lost touch after graduation. I learned of her passing at a Sanderson reunion in '94 and was truly shocked. She was such a colorful character and into all things art! So witty, smart and FUN! Christy Robinson - Sanderson '69.
Debbie and I were cast as the "Snow Twins" in the 1966 production of "Carosel" at Broughton. I liked her a lot and enjoyed her company. Her loss, was and is, extremely sad.
